The Beginning
In 2005, from other areas of North America a few Romanian families moved to the San Antonio, Texas area inclusive of the Negru, Butuza, Stoian, and Vesa families. In 2006 other families moved to San Antonio to a growing Romanian Pentecostal community inclusive of the Davis, Hotea, Dehelean, Onofrei, Dan Negru and others.
These groups of families began to gather together to to have prayer and worship services together with other Romanian families from the Baptist church community. On September 17, 2006 in the home of Dan Negru the first gathering of these families became a reality and they became the founding members of Bethany “Betania” Church.
Bethany “Betania” Church
During this time the official name of the church was chosen, along with a decision to be affiliated with a well known Romanian organization along with the original church leadership committee. There was a total of 27 people with voting privileges chose to have the following items in effect:

- Florian Negru – Treasurer
In November 27, 2006 the church became registered with the State of Texas as a non-profit organization with the name: “Bethany Romanian Pentecostal Church”. In 2007, Brother Alexandru Hotea decided to move to another state. Brother Florian Negru was chosen as the person responsible for the church. In 2010 a group of brothers and sisters from Bethany decided to begin a new church founding the church Living Waters Romanian Pentecostal Church. On February 3, 2012 Alexandru Trombitas moved from Chicago to serve as Senior Pastor until May 2018.
